Gabriela is currently working on her dissertation under the guidance of Professor Fabio Milani. Her dissertation research explores monetary policy issues under adaptive learning. Gabriela's job market paper examines the causes of the Great Inflation. Her paper supports the view that the Great Inflation was due to policymakers’ beliefs about the state of the economy, in addition to a change in policymakers’ preferences for inflation stabilization relative to the output gap after 1979.
At UC Irvine, Gabriela served as an instructor in Econ 100C (Intermediate Macroeconomics) during the summer of 2009. Gabriela has also received multiple opportunities to serve as a teaching assistant and research assistant. She has received several research fellowships from the School of Social Science and Department of Economics.
In her spare time, Gabriela enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter Sofia. She also enjoys working out, traveling and studying French.
