A Few Random Links

I have a courtesy appointment in the Department of Statistics at UCI. After all, there is a saying that econometricians are simply statisticians who attach dollar signs to all of their regression results.

We have some very smart econometrics students here at UCI. See a list of econometrics graduate student publications prior to graduation from UCI. A much longer list that includes student publications for all fields in economics and contains papers published even after graduation (as long as research was initiated while at UCI) is available here.

I enjoy a weekly dose of punishment at Elite Fitness TKD. It surely beats long faculty meetings.

Just for fun, I once ran the San Francisco Marathon. Then tried the Surf City Half-Marathon in Huntingon Beach. And because I love Cajun food and beignets, I also ran the New Orleans Marathon. Not sure about long-distance running, but I highly recommend the beignets.

A benefit of living in Southern California is that one can go sailing year-round. In winter months, it can be complemented by snowboarding. I have yet to try both on the same day.
